New Year 7 students starting at Pentrehafod School for September, 2020 July 2020 Dear Parent/Carer, This has bene a very unsettling time for all young people, but we really do feel for our year 6 students. We have really missed welcoming them to Pentrehafod for our usual transition week. This hasn’t been possible this year so some key teachers have visited each primary school in our catchment and have enjoyed meeting some of the young people. Planning for September has been difficult due to the uncertainty around social distancing. However, we now know we can welcome our new Year 7 students in for Wednesday 2nd September and Thursday 3rd. Our new year 7 student are asked to come to school for 8:30 in the morning. They will then leave site for 12:05. During these two days we will build in some transition and wellbeing work to support your son/daughter. For the next week – 7 th September – 11 th September – year 7 students will attend on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. They will attend from 8:30 -12:05 and will then return home for lunch. They can bring a water bottle and a snack in to school with them. When not in school, the students will still be expected to undertake some learning. We will support them with this. Please can students wear their Pentrehafod uniform each day in school, apart from Friday 11th September when they can wear their PE kit as they have a planned Health and Wellbeing PE lesson. After this first 8 days we will then have all year groups in together.(Monday September 14th – more on the start and end times to follow but this will be more along the lines of a .normal. school day). The A3 sheet attached provides a detailed plan for each year group for September. You can find all this information on our website under the section, ‘Plans for September, 2020’. During the summer holidays please can you keep checking the school website as there could be changes to planning. There is some detailed information there and a video explaining this reintroduction phase.
